Hebrews
IN THIS LESSON
summary
In chapter 8 the writer emphasizes that Jesus is the superior High Priest who serves under a better covenant than the old one, and that he is seated at the right hand of God in the real tabernacle in heaven. He contrasts the new covenant with the old covenant with a prophecy in which God promised a new covenant in which His people will all would know Him personally and sins would be fully forgiven. By calling this covenant “new,” the old covenant has been made obsolete.
