IN THIS LESSON

Theme
The author concludes his presentation of the new covenant quoting a prophesy that sins will be fully forgiven and forgotten. The author follows this with a sober warning that to deliberately reject the offering will surely result in judgment, since there is no other sacrifice for sins. He exhorts believers to persevere and to encourage others who are being persecuted for their faith.

key verses
10:36-38 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”

related verses
Luke 9:23-26  Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
