Summary

In Daniel chapter 4, King Nebuchadnezzar has a troubling dream about a giant tree that gets cut down, and he calls on Daniel to interpret it. Daniel tells him the tree represents the king himself, and that he will be driven insane and live like an animal until he acknowledges that God is the true ruler over all kingdoms. A year later, Nebuchadnezzar gets prideful, and the prophecy comes true—he loses his mind and lives in the wilderness. After a period of time, he finally praises God, his sanity returns, and his kingdom is restored. The chapter ends with Nebuchadnezzar humbling himself and recognizing God's authority.
