Ecclesiastes 6

summary
In chapter 6 the Teacher states that some people are given riches but not the ability to enjoy them. He argues that even a long life or having many children is meaningless without the capacity to find joy in one’s labor and receive life as a gift from God. The chapter ends by reminding readers that everything has already been determined by God, humanity’s nature is known, and no one can contend with Him. This passage challenges us to embrace humility, trust God’s sovereign plan, and seek contentment in what He provides rather than endlessly striving for more.
